NBA Commissioner Issues Response to Jewish Bar Alliance regarding Kyrie Irving

The Jewish Bar Alliance, of which JBLS is a founding member, wrote to the NBA commissioner to express its concerns regarding the anti-Semitic rhetoric shared by Kyrie Irving.  We received the Commissioner’s response below today and appreciate that the matter is not being swept under a rug or dismissed.  It is a serious issue and our concerns are being heard. We can make a difference.  Never again.

Dear Jewish Bar Alliance New York Board of Directors: 

Thank you for your letter. We recognize the pain and damage that Kyrie's actions have caused. He remains suspended from the Brooklyn Nets and I had a direct and candid conversation with him last week about this situation. We are working with Kyrie, the Nets and the Players Association to determine the appropriate remediation to ensure that Kyrie genuinely addresses the harmful impact of his conduct.
