Everyone is aware by now of the unspeakable horror perpetrated by the terrorist group Hamas upon the Jews of Israel. Their Hamas charter is clear - to kill all "Jews." There is no moral equivalency to what they did and Israel's response - none!  The vast number of victims killed, mutilated, wounded and taken hostage are  from Kibbutzim bordering Gaza. This was a POGROM. Murders of innocent Jews not last seen since the Holocaust. This was pure evil. The situation obviously grows more desperate daily on al levels but particularly for the families and victims of these communities. There are many charities we are all contributing to but the attached one is 100% secure - 100% will be used to support this devastated part of  our people and is a 501(c) (3)! Please make this donation a priority. More about this below:

Justice Jeffrey Cohen (Ret.) and his wife, Nomi, as wel as their families, have been directly impacted. Nomi and Jeff's families and friends there include at least one death (18 year old in Kibbutz Beeri) and old friends now held hostage in Gaza from Kibbutz Nir Oz. Final numbers are not complete and the worst times lie ahead. As many of you know, Jeffrey Cohen is President of the Jewish Bar Alliance NY (an umbrella organization of five regional Jewish bar associations, including the Justice Brandeis Law Society 9 JD) and was founder and President for over 10 years of the JBLS 9th JD. Our hearts are with them and their families. The attached fund was just established ot support solely those Kibbutzim and families. Please contribute without minimizing other contributions you may be considering, including, inter alia, Rambam Hospital, FIDF and Mogen David Adom, all of which we as an organization have previously supported and they continue to be first responders in our precious Israel, at this time of need.

We await word from other members of the Justice Brandeis Law Society 9th DJ regarding their loved ones who may be victims so that we may share with all their plight.

The scope of horror is unimaginable but wil be exceeded by our resolve to painfully prevail once again over the enemies of the Jewish People and continue our fight here against anti-Semitism.

Please contribute, pray and stand tall unafraid as we have done for over 5,000 years.

Emergency Fund to Support Kibbutzim near Gaza

The Kibbutz Movement, serving as the governing body for 257 Kibbutzim scattered across Israel, hereby brings to your attention the critical situation faced by Kibbutzim situated in the proximity of the Gaza Strip in southern Israel. Notable among them are the Kibbutzim of Kerem Shalom, Sufa, Holit, Nir Yitzhak, Magen, Nir Oz, Nirim, Ein Ha’Shlosha, Kisufim, Re’im, Be’eri, Nahal Oz, Kfar Aza, Mefalsim, Erez, Nir Am, Gevim, Or Ha’Ner, Bror Hayil, Yad Mordechai, Zikim, Karmiya, and Gvar’am.

Since the morning of Saturday, the 7th of October 2023, these resilient Kibbutzim have endured a relentless and lethal onslaught perpetrated by the terrorist organization "Hamas." This ruthless assault has exacted a grievous toll, resulting in the loss of precious human lives, abduction of residents and extensive property damage. Regrettably, many of the afflicted communities have been compelled to evacuate their homes for their own safety.

In response to these dire circumstances, the Kibbutz Movement has taken decisive action by establishing an emergency situation room. This dedicated team is laboring tirelessly to provide indispensable aid and support to the valiant members of these Kibbutzim under its stewardship. As part of these resolute efforts, we are reaching out to you with an earnest appeal for your generous contribution.

Your donation will be instrumental in facilitating the following essential provisions:

  1. Provision of Basic Necessities: This encompasses the distribution of clothing, blankets, towels, and hygiene essentials.
  2. Mental Health Support: Our commitment extends to facilitating access to psychiatrists, compassionate social workers, emotional therapy, and educational guidance for those profoundly affected.
  3. Logistics, Transportation, and Accommodation: We are resolute in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of vital resources to the affected regions.
  4. Any Other Immediate Needs: We remain prepared to swiftly address and respond to any evolving requirements arising from this crisis.

It is our solemn pledge that every contribution received will be allocated exclusively to the Kibbutzim in strict accordance with their specific needs and the urgency ascertained by the Kibbutz Movement.

Your unwavering support will significantly impact and alleviate the burdens faced during these challenging times. We humbly express our gratitude for your consideration and stand united in solidarity as we confront this adversity together.

We will appreciate any donation, with the hope of quieter days.
